He has worked in government as head of digital communications for two Prime Ministers in Downing Street and head of digital diplomacy for two Foreign Secretaries in the Foreign Office, with a spell at the Department for Education on Workforce projects and a number of projects for governments in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
In the media, he was executive editor for the B2B operation of the Guardian (education and the public sector), was digital director for digital at the Independent and editor in chief at HuffPost UK. He has written for all of the above, as well as the Times, Newsweek, The Sun, International Business Times, and more.
He has worked in public relations (for Freud Communications) and public affairs (for Portland) and brand and content strategies for Home. He is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at King's College, London.
